GNG Student Policy
At Gobind Sarvar School, students are expected to act with kindness, respect, and responsibility at all times.
Treat all students, staff, and visitors with kindness and respect.
Bullying, fighting, or inappropriate behavior (verbal, physical, social, or online) will not be tolerated.
Follow staff directions, including teachers, bus drivers, and supervisors.
Respect school property and report any damage immediately. Parents may be responsible for damages.
Arrive at school on time and attend all classes.
Late students must get a late slip; repeated lateness will lead to parent contact and further action.
Parents must call the school by 8:00 a.m. to report absences. Extended absences may require a doctor’s note.
Students must be signed out by a parent/guardian for any early dismissal.
Follow the school uniform/dress code; head coverings are part of the uniform.
Casual dress days require modest clothing aligned with Sikh values (no crop tops, short shorts, or inappropriate graphics).
Grooming Expectations The following items are not permitted at school (fake eyelashes/ eye shadow, lipsticks or lip gloss or fake nails or nail extensions)
Personal electronics (phones, smartwatches, AirPods, trading cards) are not allowed on school property or buses unless approved for medical or special activities.
School-issued laptops are for academic purposes only. Misuse or damage will lead to consequences and parent billing.
School is a closed campus; students must remain on campus unless signed out by a parent or authorized adult.
Follow the hallway “right side” rule, move quietly, and practice safe behavior.
Report unsafe situations or any behavior that could harm others.
No gum chewing on school property or buses.
Remain seated and speak quietly on the bus.
Follow the bus schedule and driver instructions.
Unsafe or disruptive behavior may result in suspension from bus service.
Only vegetarian meals and snacks are allowed; dairy is permitted but no meat, seafood, or eggs (some classes or floors might need to be nut-free).
Respect Darbar Sahib guidelines on food at school.
Zero tolerance for alcohol, drugs, vaping, smoking, or weapons.
Possession or use will result in immediate suspension or expulsion.
Administration may inspect lockers, bags, or devices if there is a safety concern.
Follow Fair Play Principles and Student-Athlete Contracts for all school activities.
Parents must pick up students on time after activities; repeated lateness may lead to removal from the activity.
Minor issues: handled by classroom teachers (warnings, mindfulness strategies, parent contact).
Repeated or serious issues: referral to administration, which may result in detention, suspension, or expulsion.
All actions follow the school’s Strike System and Education Act guidelines.
If a student violates the Code of Conduct, the school will arrange a serious discussion with the student and parents. Depending on the situation, consequences may include detention, suspension, or expulsion.
Any updates to school rules will be shared with students and parents through email. Violations of these rules, along with any classroom rules set by the teacher, may result in disciplinary action.
Maintaining a safe, orderly, and caring school environment is a shared responsibility. We appreciate the cooperation of parents in helping us create a respectful and welcoming atmosphere at Gobind Sarvar School.
